A sports bar in the Mason City area has been
cited for violating a local fire code for the
second time in a three month span. The
business is called “The Other Place” and it
was hosting an event in which there were
allegedly 345 people in an establishment
designed to hold 225 people. Mason City Fire
Department Fire Marshall Mark Christiansen
says it was a matter of safety.
The place also was cited for an alleged
violation back in November.
