Court news from Kossuth County.

A former Algona reserve Police officer has pled guilty to serious misdemeanor charges of 4th degree theft and had
felony charges of misconduct in office dropped although he will serve jail time in Humboldt County. In a case prosecuted by Hancock County Attorney Karen Kaufman Salic, Christopher Robinson was alleged to have prepared 37 false reports of making tobacco compliance checks and also claiming 420 dollars in reimbursement funds for a confidential informant. Robinson entered a written agreement in Kossuth County Court this week.
As part of the plea agreement Robinson will serve 14 days in the Humboldt County Jail and pay restitution of some
22 hundred dollars to the Algona Police Department.
