Benefts for Area Residents

There are a couple of benefits for area residents in the coming days. The first is for Lori, Glen and Brandon Miller. Lori was involved in an accident in Burt on August 11 and has been in St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester since. The benefit, which includes a meal and auction, will be Saturday November 17th at the KC Hall in Algona beginning at 4pm. Cash donations are can be sent to the “Lori Miller Benefit” at the Northwest Federal Savings Bank, PO Box 636 in Algona and corn and bean sales can also be donated through your local elevator and sent to Northwest Federal.

Another benefit will be held Thanksgiving weekend at the North Kossuth Golf Course for Avery Grace, the daughter of Melissa Davis and Jared Patterson. Avery was born August 11 with Cystic Fibrosis, which is rare fatal disease that affects the lungs and digestive system and at the present time, CF has no cure. A pork patty meal, music and entertainment, along with a pie and silent auction are being held on November 24 beginning at 5:30. Funds raised, with matching funds provided by Thrivent for Lutherans, will help the Avery, Melissa and Jared with expenses not coved by insurance.
