Wrestling card Friday in Britt to raise funds for pool effort.

A drive in Britt to raise funds for a new swimming pool for the town will be aided by a card of pro wrestling hosted by Impact Pro Wrestling which runs cards in the area on a monthly basis. Organizer Roxanne Savoy who teaches at the Britt West Hancock Elementary School says the event will be tomorrow night at 7-P.M. at Britt West Hancock High School in the Gym area. Savoy says the effort to create the pool is some two and a half years old. The old pool was at the site of the Britt Country Club. She says some of the wrestlers took part in pep assemblies back on Monday at the three school buildings in the Britt West Hancock School District to create awareness and drum up attendance at the wrestling card. Savoy says a target date of 2009 is envisioned for the completion of the new pool for Britt which will go on the site of an old school which has since been torn down. Bids for work on the project will be let in January or February of next year.
