Click It or Ticket

During the heavily traveled Thanksgiving weekend, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office, along with other state law enforcement, will be buckling down on motorists not buckled up.
Last year, 44 percent of all vehicular deaths were caused by not wearing seat belts during the fatal crash. Michael Laski, the Director of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, says safety belt use is the most effective way to reduce serious injury or fatality in motor vehicle accidents.
This is why the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office will be stepping up with another special “Click It or Ticket” campaign during the Thanksgiving holiday. Special checkpoints and other activities during the heavy wave of traffic will take place November 19th through the 25th. Law enforcers are hoping that a tough reminder of a fine will teach the lesson that not wearing a safety belt can cost a lot more than a ticket.
