High School Dance teams from Algona High Schools do well in Des Moines at State competition.

Results from the Iowa State Dance Championship
Competition in Des Moines as both Algona High School and Bishop Garrigan had dancers make the trip.
Coach Coleen Schiltz says B-G-H-S got a first place in Class 3 Pom, a first place in Class 4 Hip Hop, and also received a Distinguished Academic Award for their cumulative grade point average of 3.72. Coach Schiltz also says the Bishop Garrigan Dancers received a Judges Choice Most Prestigous award, they were singled out
From 269 routines in receiving the award. Meanwhile Coach Ellie Larson of the Algona High School Dancers
Says the dancers got a first place for a Kick routine and also a first place award for a Jazz routine as well.
Both coaches reported good crowds in Des Moines for the event despite iffy weather conditions.
