Money from Congress to clean up the former Frit Industries site at Humboldt.

Congress has passed a spending bill that allots 750-thousand dollars earmarked for clean up work in Humboldt of the facility formerly known as Frit Industries. City of Humboldt officials say there has not been production at the facility in 24 years. The site is contaminated with hazardous waste and plans have been in the works to clean it up and turn the property into an industrial park.
