Heck of a sweet spud grown at Titonka

A Titonka area man produced a very large sweet potato from his crop this fall. Roger Schmidt grew a sweet potato that weighed in at 12 pounds. Schmidt says the extended period of warmth during the Indian Summer allowed his garden to produce some extra sweet potatoes, squash, cabbage carrots and some tomatoes.
