Ipw wows em in Whittemore

One of the great nights of the year for Impact ProWrestling was held in Whittemore on October 13th to celebrate Oktoberfest. A large crowd at the Whittemore Community Center saw Johny Fitness gain a pinfall victory over Mitch Paradise in a Whittemore Street Fight Match. Paradise gave Fitness a stiff test in the stipulation match, Fitness credits the Whittemore crowd for helping him to garner victory. In the under card "The 2nd Coming"defeated the Supa Cito`s of Matty Star and SupaCito Kid to retain the IPW tag team titles, afterwards Matty Star turned on his tag team partner and set up another match between the two downthe line. Derek Ricke defeated both Flav and Shawn Roman in a special arm wrestling challenge, the duo tried to beat Ricke down, but a save was made by local Whittemore resident "Uncle Hacksaw" Phil Kollasch who slammed Flav to the Mat. A-J Smooth defended the IPW heavyweight title against Montoya X by disqualifacation. Shawn Roman won one of the big events of his young career by winning a 13 man royal rumble style battle royal. Here is a list of the other other participants in the battle royal:Flav, James Jeffries, Buck Albright, Thrillcat, Tortuous Tony Sly, Anthony Draven, Ian "Beef" Wellington, Project Matthew, Max Force, Kenny Backwash, Chief Atakullakulla, Big Country...Max Force made a return appearance in an IPW ring in about a years time, Kenny Backwash temporarily came out of retirment and was the person that Shawn Roman eliminated to win the batlle royal. Havyk used his patented spear to pin Latin Thunder to win the opener. Three Whittemore residents won prizes during the Intermission time from the Whittemore Betterment Committee, special signage advertising the event sponsors was painted by Vern Wichtendahl of Whittemore and the woodworking on the paint frame was done by Roger Kenne of the Whittemore area. Afterwards a post card celebration took place at Pitchers in downtown Whittemore. The wrestlers ate and drank the rest of the night away.
