Speeding problem in West Mc Gregor Road......

Kossuth County Sheriff Paul Gronbach says their have been problems with motorist speeding on McGregor Road as it both descends downhill and crosses a bridge over the East Fork of the Des Moines River then flattens out and continues west and vice versa as drivers head into town. Sheriff Gronbach says the speed limits in that locale are 30 miles per hour in the area around the bridge and then 45 miles per hour after that, he says the problem is that people headed West think that the minute they reach the city limit they can start going the highway speed of 55 miles per hour which is not the case, and drivers headed East think the point to slow down from 55 miles an hour is when they have crossed the bridge. Sheriff Gronbach urges drivers to slow down as Deputies will be patrolling the area, he also says the area is notorious for Deer with numerous vehicle/deer accidents over the years, so again Kossuth County Sheriff Paul Gronbach is urging motorists to reduce speed and watch out for deer in the area of the river bridge on West McGregor Road, also known as Kossuth County Road B-40.
