Details on accident released.

Two drivers escape major injury in a semi – dump truck accident last week. Iowa State Patrol Officer Morenz states in a report that the accident occurred at the intersection of 70th Avenue and 140th Street in Kossuth County. Jeremy D Schultz of West Bend was traveling southbound on 70th Ave in a 1994 Kenworth semi tractor trailer while Ronald J Metzger, also of West Bend, was eastbound on 140th St in a 1998 dump truck. Officer Morenz states that driver Schultz failed to yield to the right of way at the uncontrolled intersection and collided with driver Metzger. The dump truck overturned on the highway and the semi went into the ditch and rolled onto its side. Both drivers were transported by ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries. Following the investigation, Officer Morenz states that a hog confinement on the northwest corner of the intersection contributed to obstruction the view and cited Jeremy Schultz for failure to yield to the right.
