David Thoreson to return!

Algona native, David Thoreson, will be making a return visit in regards to his display “20 Years / 20 Stories” in The Gallery in the Algona Public Library. Spokeswoman Darla McEnroe says Thoreson will be in Algona Thursday November 1st for career day at Algona High School and that evening, he will be at the library for a presentation about his body of work. An additional portion of the program will be a forum about environmental issues raised by his recent sailing adventure through the Northwest Passage about the Artic Circle. David Thoreson grew up in Algona, studied at the University of Nebraska and then traveled the world as a photographer. His work has been featured at the Smithsonian Institute, in numerous publications and books, and in award-winning Public Television documentaries. Thoreson’s presentation on November 1st will begin at 5:15 and everyone is welcome to attend. The Gallery is open Monday through Saturday and “20 Years / 20 Stories” will be on display through November 16th.
